We are the local inflatable boat repair specialist, and serve both Whangarei as well as the wider Northland area. The following are some of the problems you may be faced with and how we can help you with them:
Punctures: Fish spines frequently causes these, with the worst offenders being the snapper. It may seem like it would be easy to repair minor punctures, but we recommend you bringing in your boat to us even for minor patches. On our repairs we only use two part, industrial grade adhesive and highest quality hypalon fabric or PVC. To ensure good adhesion we also control the humidity and heat.
Split Seams: Whenever a boat is inflated, seams may give way. As the day grows warmer, air inside of the pontoons start to expand. To avoid this problem, always start off your day with a boat that is fairly soft. If you didn't get this advice in time, bring your boat into us and we will fix it.
Loose Fittings: Some of the glue that was used in the past for manufacturing dinghies hasn't held up over time. Reattaching fittings and handles that have worked their way off of the pontoons is one of the most common repair jobs that we do. Usually it is an easy job and a lot of customers take this as an opportunity for having them refastened in positions that are more convenient and to have new fittings added as well.
UV Degradation: As we all know the sun damages skin and can deplete fabric over time that is used for making inflatable boats. This can be resolved by spraying on a product that repairs a fabric's porosity that has been damaged by the UV rays of the sun.
Loose Transom: Wear and tear along with a heavy outboard being carried can result in the transom board coming loose from the pontoons. It can be a complicated repair at times, but on any boat that has more than a few years worth of life left, it is worth it.
Leaking Floor: It is easy to fix leaks that are on air floors, but wet feet are sometimes the problem and we can fix that also.
The Great Mystery: We sometimes may search for a leak for days. However, we are very persistent, we guarantee that your boat will not leak after you take it home - otherwise we will fix it free for you. We like keeping a boat for 24 hours after repairing it to ensure no further leaks exist.
